Land Desktop: Point location in drawing?

Hi,
I am creating points in land desktop using the manual option from Point Menu. The strange thing that ia happening is the points are created with correct northing and easting values but are drawn at incorrect location in drawing.

And when I use these points to build my surface and create contours the surface as well as contours are drawn at incorrect location. They does not line up with my plan view where I want them graphically.

Please advice what could be wrong with the drawing?
Is it something related to how the drawing is being set up?
