LARGE COMPRESSOR MOTORS FUNDAMENTAL

Is there any good link describing a large compressor motors ( 5000-6000 HP) in my case applied in petrochemical industry.
Also I would like to now who is manufacturer of these motors.

Try doing a google search for VEM motors and Siemens motors, there the type we use on our gas export compressors.

Our 6000 kw motors are Siemens but also seen LSE of Uk motors/
Yes they are certified to Ex N by the Atex standards.

I have seen a lot of Schorch motors used on large compressors in the LNG industry, also HHI (Hyundai Heavy Industries).

Above post are visible to the industries, but sad to say we encountered some units(not to mention the manufacturer) having a problem of BROKEN ROTOR SHORTING RINGS or ROTOR BARS for this application.

pristava, i would recommend to evaluate thoroughly and conduct total assesment of machine's protection, or consult the manufacturer's view for the total machine management and protection schemes to overcome future damage as above.
