ISO 4026 thru 4029 for socket head set screws seem to be limited to stop short at M24.

ASME B18.3 is a standard for inch series socket head set screws.
I have not found a reference to the M combined variant. And no hits anywhere for ASME B18.3M. Even the ASME website.

It turns out the metric set screw standard is B18.3.6M - 1986(R2008).

"This standard is no longer an American National Standard or an ASME-approved standard. It it available for historical references only.

However "This standard contains complete general and dimensional requirements for metric series socket set screws of nominal sizes from 1.6 mm to 24 mm. Also included are appendices covering formulas for dimensions, part numbering system and preferred sizes for government use, and thread dimensions."

I wonder what to expect when we find an M42 set screw.
