I'm looking for a compression spring supplier for what I think is a pretty big spring. Max static load is about 30000 lb. I think I need a spring constant of about 30000 lb/in.

Can you give more info? For example:
1. What is the minimum allowed spring I.D.
2. What is the maximum allowed spring O.D.
3. What is the maximum spring length when compresses to maximum load?
4. Does it has to be made of a stainless steel?
5. Does it cyclically loaded and if so what is the first load, deflection, and second load after deflection?
6. Required life cycle?
7. If it is just for static application then how long it will be under the load and what is the allowed relaxation over a specified time?
8. Working temperature range?
9. Is it for aerospace, military, or a commercial use
10. Weight limit?
11. Does the spring have to be a compression spring, the spring rate seams quite high and you should expect large deviations in the rate. If you can tolerate larger deflections to receive the load your life will be much simpler.

And any other information that will help.

 
At this point design constraints are pretty loose, but in answer to your numbered items:
1. None
2. About 1 ft, but not hard - could be greater
3. No requirement, but practically I think maybe 20 in.
4. No, environment is controlled.
5. first load = 30000 lb w/ 1 in. deflection, 36000 lb w/ .17 in. additional deflection. first deflection could be doubled, second deflection is
6. 20 years - contant static load ~ 30000 lb ±20% maybe 500,000 cycles.
7. see above, aloowed relaxation - no requirement - let's say 1 inch.

11. Spring is part of a support system for a 1/2 million pound, tall vertically mounted cylindrical shipboard structure w/ vertical 3/4g loads. The purpose of the system is to limit flexural loads at the base due to small shear movement of upper lateral supports. So, loads are compressive, although I suppose arrangements can be designed to use tension or torsion. Probably 2 inch under static load is max. About 40 springs would support base flange of cylinder.

Again, I'm looking for a supplier that works w/ this size spring. Have considered air springs, but I think they would have to be pretty large diameter unless they operate at high pressure. Also considering rubber mounts.

I ran some base calculations and your spring would be a perfect fit for Matthew Warren spring division. They specialize in compressions springs and have the capeability of producing large wire springs through a very unique process.
