I have been importing terrain elevation surface files into SW04 via the stl import. If I create a file consisting of a 224x224 grid, SW can import the surface file. This is a surface consisting of 100352 triangles. If the grid is 225x225 the message 'unable to create solids or surfaces' is posted. Is there a threshold to the the number of surfaces allowed in a sldprt file, It appears to me that it is right around 100000. I've tried many other programs and data translators, I know SW is not the best program to do this. I just really want to get an elevation model of the world I've created into SW. For accuracy purposes I wanted 1/30th of an inch grid spacing on a 24"x18"x6" model resulting in a 720x540x180 grid. This surface model would consist of 777600 triangles. Can this be done? Scott I'm hoping you have an answer for this one.
