Hello,

I am looking into replacing the pumps in a raw sewage pump station with new, larger ~500HP units (that will hopefully fit into the existing dry well). So far, the ones that seem to be the best 'fit', literally, are made by a firm I've never heard of, "ABS." I have nothing against them at all, but I'm a little leery of specifying such large units with a firm unknown to me. Looking at their website, however, they seem to be a large Germany-based firm which has handled projects all over Europe and elsewhere.

My question is, has anyone out there used their pumps before, especially their larger ones? How are they to work with, and did they perform well for you?

Thanks,
JKM9

Hello JKM,
Have you contacted other submersible pump suppliers? Try ITT Flygt, they have many times more large submersible installations than ABS. Ask for references~! I admit, I work for Flygt. Just trying to help.

Piffer

I have worked for ITT Flygt and have also worked closely with ABS, both manufacturing excellent equipment. I would suggest you contact both for references and detailed information. I would confirm that Piffer is correct in saying ITT Flygt have more big pump instalations than ABS.
