laser etching 4130 tube

dunno if im in the right section , but does anyone know if there is some sort of cnc laser that can etch a really intricate design (such as a cartoon) to the complete outside diameter of 4130 some chromoly tubing , and if so do you think that it will comprise the structural integrity of the tubing , thanks

YES, intricate patterns can be done. Check with laser marker companies (suppliers or job shops) to do prototypes & samples.

Marking will discolor the material to make graphics & text readable. Quality will vary. Etching requires more laser power, disrupts the surface of the material. It will compromise structural integrity, but by how much? You must determine this.
