Anybody have sources for following? My microprocessor sends a logic high to optics assembly that sends laser pulse to the target. A digital logic high is detected by my micro when the reflected laser energy returns to the unit. My micro does the time-of-flight calculation. Max Range, 100 meters minimum off of typical out-door targets (not highly reflective).

I expect the parts would include a laser diode, focusing lens assembly, laser line optical filter, receiver lens, photodiode, amplifier. Wish for total price to be below $100, and the laser to be eye-safe. Any ideas anybody? I see the lowest cost retail unit is $175, but it does not give me electronic access to range data - only displays the information on a LCD screen for the user. I would prefer an off-the-shelf component to do the above requirements. If not... where can I get good low-cost sources that I won't spend a life time re-learning what others already know who build these?

Thanks...
