Hello,

Please can somebody explain me typical connection between launche/ receiver and pipe. Are pigging wye fittings best solution?

I guess I wasnt clear in my question.

I have two pipes which are running parallel. I would like to use one common launcher for both pipes. What kind of fitting I should use for this?

Every "wye" valve I've ever seen has been low pressure.

I really think you would be better off in a 6-inch to use something like an Argus Pigging Valve from Argus Machine Works in Calgary (

http://www.argusmachine.com/pigging-valves.cfm).

This gadget costs less than twice the cost of a ball valve and is a self-contained launcher or receiver. They make pigging valves up to 8-inch, but I don't like the cost or operation of the 8-inch. I like the 2-6 inch valves a lot.

Trying to divert pigs to one line or another is just full of risks at this pressure.

Do you know any manufacturer that produce 6" "wye" valves. I would like to look at their specs, so I can be able to explain concerns with providing common launcher for multiple piplines.

Google is a wonderful thing, but the market seems to be garden hoses and fire hoses. The biggest I found was 2-1/2 inch. The highest pressure was 300 psig.

If you were to find one big enough and strong enough for your application, I don't see how you would keep a pig from starting down the wrong leg and then tumbling (which tends to fold a foam pig so the sweep effeciency goes way down).

This just sounds like a bad idea.

Not sure how often or what type of pigging you plan to do, but if it is a requirement to have only one set of L/R's, , another potential option you might look at is one set of portable L/R's that you could set up on whichever line you want to pig.
