I have found a couple situations that annoy me with WildFire 2.0. First is when I am assembling a component, when I am selecting constraints for example I select insert and select needed surfaces, mate and select needed surfaces, then if needed I select align and look to align planes for orientation purposes. I found it very easy with ProE 2001 to just select view/layers menu in the component window and then turn on the datums and select the datum from the component window screen manually. I am usually working with large assemblies so it is easier for me to us the component window while assembling. Well with WildFire you need to do alot more mouse clicks by going through the find menu and also needing to know what the datum is called to be able to select it correctly. I have also found that even if I don't use the component window when assembling that the layers icon is greyed out while in the assemble mode.
Second is that I use alot of copygeom to create CFD analysis parts and I create alot of air parts by the method of creating protrusions from quilts of the copygeom. It works great until the parent part is modified and causes a hole in the quilt that used the copygeom and the protrusion fails. ProE 2001 was great in the method of fixing the hole. I would just use the fix feature command and in the component window use view/layers and turn all layers on allowing me to see the hole in the quilt while view is set to wire frame . In WildFire when using the fix feature component window you can't turn the layers on.....
Sorry I am long winded in my expanation...
Thanks for any help....
