i use a dell laptop with the wide screen pushing 1680x1050 running LDD and have no problems. colors look good it can be a little slow but thats if i have a few tools running transparent. i like it better that a crt.

My 21" crt is running 1600 x 1200, I really wouldn't want to drop below that

well it has to do with hardware, the machines and my eyes. i'm sure it can do a higher resolution if you want.

The crt is getting worse…it now randomly re-sizes the display 4 or 5 times a day so definitely time for a replacement and soon

Try a local office supply house. They usually have lcd at good prices and you can exchange them for other brands.

Thanks for that suggestion....in the UK an LCD this size would arrive mail order and swopping would be a lot of hassle, i was hoping for "list wisdom" from users who already have one
