Hi,
I'm trying to size LCV for G/L Vertical separator and want to know if there is any special considerations that i need to think about.
Flow comes from some land wells. Gas = 10 MMscfd. GOR = 10 bbl/MMscf condensate, no water is produced. Arrival T = 5 to 30°C.
Gas is 2% CO2, 90% C1, 1% C2, 2% C3, 2% iC4, balance C5+
Condensate: density 700 kg/m3
FTHP = 50 barg
CITHP = 120 barg
The separator should remove liquids under level control into a liquid handling system operating at 10 barg

Riko 93,

It seems like you're being asked to design something you've never done before but with no support inside your company??

whilst eng tips is a useful tool, it is not a substitute for proper design experience and review by appropriate people in your company.

Your LCV should be quite straight forward, but depends a lot on how much, if any, slugging or surging you get, how big the separator is, how much leeway you have between low and high level etc etc.

A good process engineer will be able to provide much of this information which you then write into a data sheet.

One thing you will need to think about / fond out is in the event that the valve goes wide open and the liquid level falls, how much gas can flow through the valve into the downstream pipework.

Also be aware that as soon as your liquid goes through the valve and drops in pressure. it will flash off and become two phase.

Yes, that's my first time in designing. The company wants to know that if i can do it by myself or not. Thanks for the information

Thanks again.I have lots of documents to read. But, your explanation is like guidance for me.

Ok, but try next time to do a bit of research beforehand and either ask questions about something you can't understand or say " I think it works like this - am I correct?"
