Hi.
I'm lookint to find the compatibility of LDPE heat infused welded with transparent plastics (i.e. PC, PMMA, PETG), maybe with the aid of a compatibilizing agent such as EVA. Could anyone tell me if that is possible, and where to find such information.?
Also, does anyone have any graphs of UHMWPE and LDPE blends?
Thanks, any help would be appreciated.

I would suggest you try maleated PE as a compatibiliser. The PE portion of the maleated PE will dissolve in the PE while the maleic anhydride group can react with polyesters (like PETG) and polycarbonate. You can find maleated PE from several manufacturers like Eastman (Epolene wax), ExxonMobil (Exxelor) etc and Atofina.

Hi. Could you recommend any texts to do with this?
Thanks for your help.

Sorry, no but I would suggest you contact the suppliers of the maleated polymers I suggested. They know about using their polymers as compatibilisers and tie layers. You could also try a PE ionomer like Surlyn or Iotek

Hi. Thanks for help, greatly appreciated.
Cheers
