I'm having great difficulty with Wildfire 2.0. It almost seems as though I would be better off if I had not been a user since release 5 in the early 90's and continued to build my skills since. I can't even seem to select an edge when I am trying to define sketching references. It just keeps highlighting surfaces.

Is anybody having such a problem?

That's why I still use the real Pro/e version 2001. Although, WF3.0 look promising.

I started Pro/E w/ WF so am not sure about how it was previously.

Selecting edges for a sketcher ref; hold the cursor over the edge and RMB to cycle thru entities until the edge is pre-selected then LMB. Alternatively, hold RMB momentarily and pick Next, Previous, Pick from List.

There are, on PTC's site, freely available tutorials targeting people that are transitioning from previous versions. Believe there is also a tutorial specifically addressing Selection.

Your on disk Help, I think, has links to menu mappers, etc. that might help.

brakemeister,

I would recommend using the Wildfire Getting Started with Wildfire tutorials on PTC's website.

It's very basic but it helped me out alot, I've been on WF 2.0 for alittle over a year and I will not go back to 2001.

It was very frustrating in the beginning but it's great once you get used to it.

I've been on Pro/E for a long time too, give it a chance and you might like it, especially what they told me at the PTC users group what's to come in WF 4.0 and 5.0 ... it looks great.
