I just modelled a magnifying lens. Set the material and appearance to a clear acrylic. When I orientate the model it doesn't work as a lens - ok, there's no problem with that. It wasn't a requirement but it occurred to me 'has anyone ever modelled a lens and made it seem optically realistic'?
Thoughts please

a glass material requires a not only a transparency, but refraction and relections coeficients which cannot be set thru the normal materials in CAD programs. And not to mention the Fresnel effect...
