Hi everyone,

Im wondering if someone could enlighten me on one of Leo's Tutorials from his website? the link for the video is shown below:

Im using Pro Engineer WF 5.0 and im having problems trying to add the "Offset Parameter" as he describes it. This can be seen at 00:53 seconds into the Video Tutorial. Can anyone tell me how to go about adding this dimension please?

Also, when conducting Sensitivity and Optimization Studies in WF5 i cant get the "Design Parameter Definition" Dialogue box. All the tutorials im using are for earlier versions of the software and prompt me to select MODEL > DSGNCONTROLS > DESIGN PARAMS > CREATE.
Has this been changed for Pro E WF5? Can someone give me a clue on what to do here as an alternative please?

Many thanks.
Brian

The "Offset Parameter" is the angle between the halves of the hinge. This is a dimension that was created in the hinge assembly. When assembling the 2nd half of the hinge you need to align the axis, the ends of the halfs and a angular alignment mate the two sides, this is set to be an angle that is set, and in the main assembly shown is made flexible to allow for the hinge to show correctly for any of the doors.

I cannot answer your 2nd question as I am on WF3. I suggest not putting two unrelated questions in the same posting, it makes it hard for someone looking for an already answered question to find it.

Thanks for the reply Peter.

Ive managed to assemble the hinge as you said and create an angled dimension which updates accordingly when the value is changed (please see attached file: Assembly Dimension); but i now have a problem when making the component Flexible.

When i try to make the component flexible it wont let me select the 125 degree dimension i created during the assembly (please see attached file: selecting flexible Dim). I can only seem to select the dimensions created during the part creation.

Does anybody know where im going wrong?
