Level Transmitter Calculations

I need to verify a level transmitter calibration. In order to do so I want to use the proper formula for determining the correct inwc. Assuming water what would be the correct equation to use?

What are the output units for the level transmitter? 2.31 feet of water column is equal to 1 psig.

the output units are inches of water column - inwc. Say I have to calibrate levels of liquid other then water. Would you be able to sugges a good equation to refer to?

actual level in inches = measured level in units of "inches of water" or "water column" [w.c.] divided by the specific gravity of the medium

example: measurment is 55.3" (w.c.) of something lighter than water at 0.91 S.G.

55.3/0.91 = 60.8" physical level
