Using Ansys 6.1 to solve an assembly model (13 parts) for structural analysis. The loading is a simple delta Temp. Independtantly of the way the structure is meshed (TET or HEX or a combination, using any element type), I get the same displacement (which is fine) and the same stress discontinuity at a node. The fringe plot show pretty much the same color throughout the model and one element goes from green-yellow to red. Appying a load on the node did not help (changed the value but not the distribution).

I've been surfing the web for information but can not find anything. Any ideas on the keywords I can use? I just can't find what I am looking for with "ansys stress discontinuity" or "ansys fringe plot problem" or similar.

TIA,

Frank

P.S.: I can e-mail a picture or if there is a way for me to post it somewhere, let me know.
