I am running code calculations on Compress Software and have a set MDMT by the customer of -423 deg F. I set the Charpy test temperature at -300F and all of the components pass calculations, except nozzle piping. Nozzle piping is being limited to -300F according to the code and I can't figure out how to reduce piping MDMT. Does anybody have any ideas how I can reduce the nozzle piping to the required -423F MDMT?

Thanks

EngGirl690, I'd say, first, carefully read your Code of construction for rules on such MDMT's. Do not blindly trust your software on this.

Second, after having done that, if you still need help here, post a detailed question containing such things as Code of construction, alloy(s) involved, product forms, etc. etc.

Your last question? Impact test is an option.

Regards,

Mike

The problem with sloppy work is that the supply FAR EXCEEDS the demand
