Library Features Mandatory References

I have configurations called 10-32, 1/4-20, and 5/16-18 in a Library Feature file. Each config consists of one round cut extrude and a hole wizard feature (bolt circle). As you might imagine only one hole wizard feature is UNsurpressed in each configuration. The extrude is always unsurpressed. My problem is that when inserting this feature into a part I must satisfy the mandatory face selections for ALL the features, even if they are supressed. Not to mention they all reference the same face anyway. What sounded like a time safer is wrecked by the multiple selections. Any thoughts?

Use the Hole Wizard for tapped holes instead of Library Features? I don't see any advantages of using Library Features for tapped holes. If you use Hole Wizard you can always use the pattern as references for your insterted hardware models.

I'm not using library features for tapped holes.

I'm combining two hole wizard features (3 taps and 3 clearance holes) and a cut extrude to define a single Library feature called "mounting hole". I was hoping to use configurations to specify the various sizes of "mounting hole". As the diameter of the hole increases so does the size of the taps and clearance holes.

The limitation (now confirmed by our VAR) is that EVERY feature, suppressed or not, must have it's mandatory references selected upon insertion. Furthermore, if the same reference is used on all features it must still be selected independently for each. So if I have ten sizes of mounting hole when I add it to a part I must select the same face twenty-one times to satisfy the requirements.

There is apparently no way out, other than individual library features for each size.

Possibly a design table and equations to control the clearance and tap hole realative to the "mounting hole".

I would do one configuration using equations to control the tap and clearance holes and then insert the design table to control the mounting hole size. The design table would create the comfigurations for you.

Good thought, that would probably eliminate the multiple references.
