Need to know if this is possible or not. If it is can anyone advise how.
I have several different library features that I want to control with design tables. There will be several different configurations in the design table.
I'm sure not a problem so far.
I would like to be able to when I insert the library feature to choose between configurations. Would I have to have some sort of macro to control that.
Thanks for your help.

Wouldn't it be easier to save your FEATURE's different configurations as seperate features in your FEATURE PALLETTE?
Unless you want your FEATURE to be automatically sized, based on CUSTOM PROPERTIES in your DESIGN TABLE - maybe I could figure out how to do that.
I'm intrigued - let me try a few things and I'll re-pose the results. "Where oh where are you tonight? Why did you leave me here all alone? I searched the world over and thought I found true love. You met another and, phbbbt, you were gone."

If I can't find a way to do it like I originally said then I will do it through the feature pallette.
I was thinking that it would be easier to update them if they change again in a DT as opposed to editing them individually.
There are about 10 families with at least 4 series for each.
Thanks.

I don't think you can embed a DESIGH TABLE in a FEATURE.
You can control the dimensions of the FEATURE - after it's inserted - with a DESIGN TABLE.
But, most FEATURES will prompt you for that sort of information when you insert them.
I suppose you could do a MACRO or something, but that's a little beyond me so far.
I guess my previous advise is the best I can do for you.
Good lick... "Where oh where are you tonight? Why did you leave me here all alone? I searched the world over and thought I found true love. You met another and, phbbbt, you were gone."

I have entered in an enhancement request a while ago for this. We have multiple cutouts similar in shape but many different sizes. If we have seperate feature for each cutout on the feature pallet the list would be very large. Also like you stated, Yogibear, it is a whole lot easier to update a desig table.
I have asked to have the same functionality as pallet parts. BBJT CSWP

You can make configurations of library features. You have to use the Insert/Library Feature menu pick, then when the Open dialog come up, hit the Configure switch, and you'll be able to chose the config before you place the feature. The configs will not come into the part with the feature, nor will the feature update if the original is changed, but this might get you part way to where you want to go.

Cool, I will have to try that out. I find it strange that if it works that way then it should work from the feature pallet also. BBJT CSWP

Thanks for all of your guys's help. Sadly enough I just finished updating all of the individual parts. I guess that's part of it. We'll all know next time.
Thanks again.
