Hi

I am going to China for a business trip. So i need Pro/E Wildfire on my laptop. It is currently installed on the desktop.
I know that you can borrow the license away for several days through proe_borrow.bat
But I am not sure that I installede Pro/E correctly on my laptop.

I get following error message:

License request failed for feature PROE_FoundationAdv:-21:

License file does not support this versions.

Could it be because I have not borrow the license away just yet?
Or did I simply used a wrong license file when installing Pro/E.

I used a file that I found the libary: Flexnet/licensing/license.dat

If this is not the right one, what is such a typical license file called and how do I fix it?

Thanks.

You will need to ask your Pro/E administrator. Typically PTC send 2 license files, one supports borrowing, the other doesn't.

Also, you can only borrow the license for 10 days.

You don't install any license on your laptop. You borrow a license from your server pool.
Install Pro/E on the laptop while connected to the network.
Use the license borrow tool and borrow a license for 14 days. You can set the length of time with an environment variable that will give you the extra days above what the tool gives you directly.
Disconnect from the network and fire up Pro/E.

You cannot return a license early, so set your time accordingly. If you will be gone for longer than 14 days, then load the license mamagement software on the laptop and transfer 1 license from the server pool to the laptop. PTC does not charge for this if you are under maintenance.
