Does Anyone know if LiDAR data can be used in AutoCAD? SWFWMD (the southwest florida water management district) has made LiDAR data available for free if you supply them a hard drive. Is there reference material available on how to use it?

Thanks,

Lidar refers more to the collection process.

What you need to find out is what is the data format. If they are providing it for general use, maybe Autocad "dwg" format (or dxf) may be an option, in the form of points & polyline contours.

yes, it can be used - but expect the files to be huge
