Hey all,

I'm working on a project that involves blanketing several reactors and storage tanks with nitrogen at a pressure of 7 psi. I've been trying to figure out how long a compressed tank will last but have had no luck. If anyone has ideas or needs more info that could help, I'd love your input.

Thanks in advance.

Simple, you have to convert the usage to standard volume (at std temp and pressure).
You know the content of the cylinder, you can look that up.
The real question is what will the usage rate be, it depends on the leak rate of your system.

Assuming liquid nitrogen is stored in tanks. Known are weight(mass)and temp of liquid giving a specific volume value of liquid, temp and pressure of gas giving a specific volume value of gas, flow rate of gas to reactors. All that information allows you to calculate the expansion ration and to approximate initial volume of liquid nitrogen.
