Is it possible to centre a point light source within the object? ie if you were creating a lamp shade and wanted to show the shadows cast if the light was on.
I cant seem to get the light sources close enough.
cheers for any help

If I understand your situation correctly, I believe the solution is simple.

When making point light sources, I usually create a 3D POINT first where I can later place my light. So if you had a cube, for example, you could create 3D POINT, right click, click Translated, click the corner of the cube, then type in your offset values to put it at the center.
Now that you have your point, create your light source, select Model Screen, click to place it, right click, click Visible target, now click your 3D Point.

hope this helps!
