I am trying to design a support structure for a EHV line, is there a method to calculate the force appears on cable due to ? Cable manufacturer has some recommendations based on practical experiences I want to know if its possible to calculate by theoretical means or not .

Thanks

The title of your question mentions lightning force, so I assume that is what the question mark in the body of the question is about. There may be a physical force caused by a lightning strike, but it is not a factor in the strength of an EHV line structure.

Its an underground cable from my XFMR to switchyard ,in case of having any fault on cable that would generate a massive force on cable , to be able to keep the cable in position it should be supporeted , i want to know if it possible to calculate that force then it would determine how to support the cable .

Thank , Marry xmas.

Have you done any Googling on bus bar supports? Treat the cables as bus bars and base your calculations on the maximum asymetrical short circuit current.
