Hello all

I have just been creating a simplified engine model for one of our divisions using the linked exterior feature in advanced assemblies. Whilst I was doing it I was telling the guy how fast it would load compared to the full assembly (typically 3-5 seconds in light weight compared with 2-3 mins) however, once I had created the linked exterior and deleted the parent assmebly from the file, I:-

savced the new model,

added it to the assmebly in the correct position,

deleted the old assmebly, saved the top level, closed all parts and exited NX,

Opened the assembly with light reps toggled on in my load options,

However when my new model opened, it opened as exact and when I right click on it in the ANT, i don't have the option to turn it to lightweight.

Any ideas what's gone wrong please?

Best regards

Is this something you can do with standard NX or do you need an extra module?

well it worked for me when I did it at a different site last week, but this week on another site it's not worked. There are some setting in the customer defaults, however they should be the same across our entire business. It is not an extra module, it is a standardd feature in NX7.5

Make sure you check the options set at...

Customer Defaults -> Assemblies -> Site Standards -> Lightweight Representations

...and check to options set here.
