Hi everyone,

I am using LIMCON V3.63.2.4 to do a a check for Slotted HSS bolted to gusset plate in AS 4100 code as below:

Can anyone explain how we can get these values in highlighted circle like that since I wanna double check by excel spreadsheet? What is the formula behind that for shear lag factor?

I can self-explain other values in the report but can not figure out how we can result in these 3 values?

Really appreciate you guys for great help.

Well the last one is obviously from AISC360 as stated (table D3.1). Unlike AS4100/NZS3404 AISC has refined general shear lag factors for many more cases than these standards (compared with table 7.3.2 of AS4100).

Suspect somewhere in the documentation for Limcon it will have a list of the references used. The others are likely covered in more detail in the ASI design guide 21 as noted, I don't have a copy of this unfortunately. Hopefully someone else can help, but post the name of the reference if its different and someone might be able to provide more information.

Ref 54 is as follows:-

This is freely available from here, see page 79-80 as noted.

Thank agent for such responsive reply. Definitely have a look onto it. Really helpful mate. But have to admit ASI design guides is quite hard to obtain even most of the materials are copied from some other codes.
