Dear all,

I remember that in ASME (VIII-1 or VIII-2) exist a limit on the ratio between the SMYS (Specified Minimum Yield Stress) of the Nozzle Materia rispect to the SMYS of the Shell/Head Material (not less than 0.8 or 0.7), but I'm not more able to retireve the paragraph of ASME where it is stated/written.

Perhaphs this requirements is applicable in other EU Codes and not in ASME.

If somebody can help me, telling me if this requirements is applicabe or not by ASME (VIII-1 or VIII-2).

Many thanks in advance.

It was in pre-2007 Div.2 code, but it was about allowable stesses, not yield strength. The design stress intensity (allowable) for nozzle cannot be less than 80% of shell material. See AD-551 of the code.
