I'm trying to do a math model of a clutch pack limited slip diff and was wondering if anyone could help me with a few parameters?

1 - Clutch plate material (I'm assuming steel maybe nitirided)
2 - Friction coefficient (Wet friction in the presence of oil I guess)
3 - Disc effective radius

Cheers,

Hi Ben

2 I always run at three friction levels , 0.05,0.15 and 0.3 for friction material on steel, and then use the worst case of those three for whatever it is that I'm looking at.

usually we use cast grey iron to make press plate, not steel or nOdular iron

1. Clutch plate material (nitirided steel)
2. for wet friction, typical coefficient is around 0.10.
3. effective radius can be estimated based on the load distribution and the geometric configuration of the disc.
