Limiting short circuit fault level

Im working on a project where need to limit short circuit fault levels inside an enclosure which to house bunch of electrical equipment. Any idea on the best method

Add source impedance.

Or use current limiting fuses for protection.

Type CC fuses are also current limiting (among others).

If you are working on a project does that mean a system model has been made? If so, you can play around with different transformer impedances, cable lengths etc. You do not indicate the voltage level of the equipment. Maybe an isolation transformer could put enough impedance to drop the fault level
