Line changes when viewing in Paper space 1

I am working in R14 and in my years working with AutoCAD I have never seen this.

I have a center line (or for that matter anything BUT a solid line) in model space. When I switch over to paper space, the line changes from a center line to a solid one. This is happening on all the drawings created in a specific template. But weirder yet... When I print it out, the line shows up as a center line again. The property of the line does not change - it still is either bylayer (set to a center line) or center.

Background... I created a custom title block recently(which I have done many times and this has never happened). I'm not sure if I somehow goofed something up while creating the blocks, etc. BUT, when I moved this drawing to another title block, it still keeps on changing the line.

This problem isn't that big a deal - just bothersome.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!!!

Weird...Does the linetypescale command make any difference to what you see? Does it still do it if you load in an old drawing that you know was ok? What if you zoom right in in paperspace?

I have tried linetype scale - no difference. And when I load in an old drawing (I chose one that has a lot of different line types) again all the lines look continuous. And I already tried zooming in (and out) - guess what?!?!? No difference. I have been playing around with the custom title block and can't figure out what is messing this up.

Another weird thing... I created yet another title block yesterday. Now the new one has NO PROBLEMS.

I'm still curious if anyone out there has an answer!!

In the mean time, I'm creating a new title block and saying to heck with this.

Have you had a look at the PSLTSCALE variable?

Hey, maby your linetype is wrong, I don't know if the line type is made by somebody else, you can rename your linetype, purge all and reload your linetypes, than change the renamed linetype in the new center line and purge again, this can help, I have had the same problem before, however I have seen it one time at a college of mine where this didn't work, but it's really worth trying,
Good Luck

hey i have had this problem with autocad 14 2000 2000i and all lt versions

try this
goto PS and set psltscale to 0 the goto model then back again to see if it clears up

I know this is an old thread but I will answer anyway
1st goto model space and make sure your ltscale is correct
then set psltscale to <0>
when you go back to paper space it should appear correctly

Isnt that what i had just said :))
if everyone helps everybody the world will be a better place

Shadow... YES that is what you said - and that is what was wrong. Now it looks fine.

Thanks for everyone's help!!!

Yeah that is basically sorta what you said, but you should be in MODELspace when you set the psltscale. It still works with your method though:)

PS= PaperSpace
Model refers to model space
then i said goback meaning goback to paperspace

"try this
goto PS and set psltscale to 0 the goto model then back again to see if it clears up"

sorry if i wasnt clear ill do better next time if everyone helps everybody the world will be a better place
