Linear guides, cross-roller type

Hi,

I'm working in metrology and automation and I'm looking for an alternative vendor for cross-roller linear guides.
At the moment I'm using Misumi (part no. crtd2035), their products are fantastic in terms of accuracy, repeatability and build quality with only one problem, they don't offer a pre-dowelled version.

The ball bearing linear guides can be got pre-dowelled but from experience they are prone to friction and occasionally jam up if the guide is mounted vertically and a load is extended out from it.

The cross roller type are perfect for my fixture it is a couple of hours work for the toolmakers to disassemble the guides, get dowel holes and slots into them and reassemble them and they don't tend to feel the same once they've been machined and put back in place.

I work in a factory in Ireland so any local suppliers would be great but I'm willing to deal with anyone worldwide as we're geared for Misumi's lead times which are generally in the region of 2-3 weeks.

There are LOTS of sources for crossed-roller slides. have you done a google search? Two names off the top of my head: deltron and nsk. Do you have industrial distributors there like Motion Industries? They are a good source for anything industrial in nature.

In my experience getting manufacturers to make custom mods. to linear slides has proved difficult.

I am awaiting a quote from PM bearings at the moment, they have said they'll customise the carrier and rail with dowel holes.
The RTS-1525 part is similar to what I had been using so pending price and lead time I'll go with them.

I was also in touch with NSK.
