Linear Pattern fails when the last instance falls on the edge. 1

Howdy all,

I'm linear patterning a feature and the pattern falls off the edge of the part on the last instance. When it does the linear pattern fails and only leaves that sliver of the last instance in the model. If I only pattern 6 instances, so all remain on the part, it works like it should. Is there a simple fix so that I can use the Linear pattern for the last instance or should I just create another cut for the last instance of the linear pattern. Using SW 2011 with SP5. Thanks.

If you are trying to do 7 instances for this part then probably the easiest way is to add the additional cut separately. I think there is a way to control the number of instances with an equation if you want to evenly space the pattern on the part (if you are trying to vary the number of instances).

Could you start with a longer piece and then cut-off the excess after the hole pattern feature?

CBL,

Your solution seems the most straight forward.

Thanks to both you and Eltron for your suggestion,
