Hi,
I want to use a tapered beam element for main structure and link element for modeling tension-only cables.
So I created a model with beam 188 and link 180 which works well, but I realized that with beam 188 takes my non-linear slow-dynamic transient analysis considerably longer compared to using beam 44 (expirience from previous model without link 180).
But beam 44 does not work with tapered section properities when some real constant is defined.
So I tried a trick: I meshed main structure with beam 44 and tapered sections and then I defined real constant for link 180.
But as soon as I defined R,1,... my tapered sections disappeared....How is it even posible ? I did not issue Modif commmand to change section properities !
Ok, anyway is there an another trick how to have beam 44 defined by tapered sections and link 180 defined by real constant in the one model ?
Please help !
