I'm looking for information on Lintel and Bond Beam Design and capacity. Currently I have a copy of the 1958 Lintel Design Manual but I hope there is something a little more current. As always thanks for any information provided. This site is a great things for EIT's.

The NCMA (National Concrete Masonry Association) has updated charts.

You can contact NCMA at to to the pubications section and masonry design category.

I've been specing out a lot of powers steel's lintels. They are easy and the contractors love them (so far). Their allowasble loads are published in pdf format and are available on their website

Specifically you should get NCMA Publication TR91A "Design Tables for Concrete Masonry and Precast Concrete Lintels".

Go tot his site. They have up to date downloadable tables. I do not recall if they have design guides. To be hones, I do not design lintels any more. I specify them in a table format and request the contractor to submit them for review.
