Hello,
First time posting here. Need some help with a medium temp multiple evaporator system. I have this liquid receiver that feels like hot gas is entering receiver. There is no head master on system. My subcooling is 5 degrees low for a 100 degree day. My site glass is flashing. The liquid line is also hot to touch. Another tech went out before and found system off on high head. He reset and cleaned condenser. He said subcooling and superheat was good on departure. I also found system off on high head when I arrived the next day. I found system going off on high head when it goes into defrost. There's a liquid line solenoid at reefer rack. I recovered some gas so it's not tripping anymore. My head pressure was normal but my back seemed a little low for r404a. Condenser fan motor had good amp draw. Could a broken dip tube cause these conditions? Maybe a fractional charge? Any ideas would be appreciated.

It would be helpful if you provide specific values for pressures, temperature, sub-cooling etc. rather than "normal" or "a little low".

Check for clogged refrigerant filter. Replace if so.
