HI Guys,

How can i achieve closed and open drain segregation using a "liquid seal loop".

I am aware that segregation can also be achieved by using two separate headers - open and closed drain headers.

please any reference on drain segregation will highly be appreciated.

Isn't this just a P-trap like seal between the open and closed drain systems? Incidently a closed drain is a somewhat of a misnomer because there must be a way to vent vapor. Such vents are usually elevated above head level at some safe location- typically at the end of a branch.

If I understood it correctly, provide a pipe and valve at the bottom of the U loop. In normal case, when the valve is closed, drainage will be through the water seal and when you open the valve then it is open system.
