Literature on Working Principle of ASU Plants 1

Hello

I've joined an ASU as a Mechanical Engineer for Maintenance. I've got a couple of years of maintenance experience on inland vessels. The problem is all the new terminology and conventions. Is there some literature that can provide me with a comprehensive details and operating principles of an ASU? Cryogenic Temperatures are new to me and all the different plant machinery is quite different from what I'm used to. Any help in the right direction is appreciated.

A word of advice, don't use TLA's (three letter acronyms) with a group of strangers without defining them at some point. I assume you mean an air separation unit. It seems this may be the problem you are facing in your new job. Don't help perpetuate the practice. People often do this to show how "smart" they are. Ask the people you work with. Many TLA's are plant specific.

Easy. Just Google search "air separation unit", and start reading all the literature available from the major manufacturers such as Air products, Linde, Air Liquide, Praxair, etc. There is a lot of information out there on the web.
