Dear All

I'm building an oil well measurement system mounted on skid, my doubt: How can I calculate where to put the lifting eyes and get the right the load distribution when it be lifted whithout deflection.Any software?
Skid is 23,22' x 7,54', all stuff with vessel, pipes and instruments, weight 5,5 tons.

Thans in advance

There are some free beam deflection calculators online, here is one.

You may want to calculate deflection for some worst case senearios and see what it is. Trying to exactly calculate the load distribution would be tedious and probably not very accurate. Once you do a few ballpark calculations you will get a good idea of the cross section and type of support you will need.

How much deflection can you have? If there is one part of the assembly that is very sensitive maybe it could be on a compliant mount. You could also incorporate a spreader beam into the design.

If you need to get center of gravity I would just lift the assembly and measure it.

If you can get a load cell you could support the unit from 3 points measure the weight of the points and the distances and calculate the CG on the x-y plane. The z axis cg point will be more difficult to find.
