Loading Diagrams for Composite Insulators

I need to advise a manufacturer of composite insulators on the loading diagrams of braced / non braced insulators for use in high voltage application. Specifically I would like some opinion advice about whether one or how one can produce generic loading diagrams (based on horizontal, vertical and longitudinal loading) without physical testing?. What data will be required? Can someone refer me to a text or other relevant document.
