I have been asked to estimate the Foul loading for a large 130 acre Light industrial/warehousing development park. Due to the fact we are having to get our water supply from local Aquifer we have to put limitations on the type of Industry we can cater for. I based my calculation on both the office and factory floor area of the individual biuldings to get the number of office workers and factory workers and allocated each each a loading of 60 litres per head per day. On these previous assumptions I have calculated the basic DWF.
However a Colleague of mine suggesed that my DWF figure should be based over a 10 Hour Day as opposed to a 24 hour day due to the fact that the offices and factories are usually open for 10 hours a day. Hence my DWF figure would need to be factored up.
I am of the opinion that there is no need for this but would like some clarification from someone who knows.
