I have just started a new job and the company uses V5R19 with VPM (Enovia Portal V5R19 SP0A)
I have to modify some drawings but I can't find a reliable way of selecting and loading the correct models.
I have used Edit Links to find the top-level of the drawing and then opened this assembly in VPM. I closed the drawing and re-opened it from VPM and then tried 'Load VPM context' but I didn't get all the models loaded.
I just tried again today and I am getting an error saying "This command doesn't work with something else than an assembly drawing coming from PDM".
Does anyone else use V5 with VPM, and if so do you have the same problems?
I have asked other users here but they just accept that it doesn't work.

Where would we be without sat-nav?

One of the first things to check is how you have your Search Order set up. This makes a big difference when loading all the parts in an assembly.

Of course, it only works if the instance links are good in the assemblly AND the view links are good in the drawing.

I'm new to this, although I used CDM with V4 several years ago.
How do I check/set the Search Order set up?
Does the versioning/revision affect whether the model will be found and loaded?
For example the drawing is produced when a model was at revision A, but has now gone to revision B.

Today I loaded the models associated with the drawing using Load PDM Context command but got OLD versions of 2 models I modified earlier in the week - not the version I used to produce the drawing.
My colleague loaded the same models from VPM and got the up-to-date versions.
Surely this shouldn't be possible.

How do I do clean the local cache?

It's been a while now since I worked with VPM V5, but when I got strange issues my first play was always to clean the catsettings and the local cache. Both the catsetting and the local cache are usually somewhere in c:/document and settings/user and there are some hidden folder but look into local setting and application data
