Hi All
I am working on a Problem in which a 20m Vessel in erected on site. Due to some issue some local PWHT has to be done at an elevation. Now I am simulating the some 500mm of cylindrical shell for heating and stress analysis. I did apply steady state thermal and imported Thermal profiles fir whole heating and holdings and cooling time.when I go for structural Analysis my stresses are coming very high like 10 times allowable.I did linear Elastic as well as Limit Load Analysis using Bilinear Strain Hardening. What is strange is that my stress even at very low weight is coming high.
Can someone help me with this ?

Hand this off to an expert. It's far more complicated than can be explained (for free) over the internet.

Mohit_singh. What do you want to invent?.
Read any code for pressure vessel.

Sorry to say but I am the only FEA resource available to my firm right now

Then your firm is in trouble.

You need to contract this out to an expert. Hire an expert. Or tell your client that you cannot do the work and they should hire an expert.
