Hi All,

is it possible to refine/update or remesh a mesh around cutouts without affecting the nodes on the edges of say a rectangular 2D mesh?

the nodes at the edges are nicely merged and some nodes at the edges have CBUSH elements defined so I want to keep those nodes undisturbed and only modify the mesh around the cutouts?

perhaps there is an option to define the area around the cutouts and so that only elements/nodes in that area are modified, leaving rest of the mesh unchanged?

will appreciate your guys' input! thanks

Hi,

Go to Mesh / Remesh / Refine. You can define the boundary nodes and play with parameters...

or mesh/editing ... I like the interactive option, but it can be labour intensive.

An easy thing is to split the elements along the edge of the cut-out in two, parallel with the edge.

another day in paradise, or is paradise one day closer ?
