In order to use the local rotating region, I believe one have to create a separate rotational domain to enclose the intended rotating part. Does the rotational domain need to be a solid inside part or hollow inside part to enclose the intended rotating part?????

I used hollow inside part for my rotational domain, and I kept getting this message "Unable to resolve the local rotating region. Solver is stopped, Please check that the fluid/fluid interface of the region 0 and 2 is axisymmetric". I checked to the best I can that the rotational domain is axisymmetric with the rotating part which in turn is also axisymmetric with the global origin.

Please help
Thanks
Mike

Mike,

The rotating domain needs to be solid in which the solid encomposes the fluid region of the rotating part and may or may not always include the entire rotating part. Also, when you run this you have specify with boundary conditions which walls are stator using moving wall. It may be necessary to specify which walls on the actual rotating part was a moving wall aswell.
