I have a small BeCu Alloy 17200 1/2HT temper stamping that requires softening over a .100" long section without affecting the material properties .100 away from this area.
I'm looking to develop equipment to do this for high volume manufacture. Around a 400/min rate would be fine. Can anyone recommend a supplier? Likely a laser application.

You might also consider induction heating. The inductors can be shaped to focus the field.

As Cory recommended use a laser welding unit. We were priced at $30,000 for one. Hopefully you can get a better deal.

EdStainless...for induction heating, do you have to surround the part? We can't do this and move the parts efficiently.

No, they can design flat coils that go above and below the parts to allow them to pass through.
Are you sure that you can accurately feed and locate these at 7/sec?
