Locating Walls in a new building

I've heard that:

"walls should not be located along the building's main column lines"

Can someone tell me why?

Recommended for you

If you have CMU walls partially bracing columns you will end up with a stiffer element than anticipated, thus attracting higher lateral loads to the column that may lead to a shear failure.
