Locking the Values in a Project Template

I have a generic schedule in Project already made, it displays the timeframe of how we run our projects in a typical monthly timeline, starting at September 1, 2008 (simply because the first of this month falls on a Monday).
After presenting this timeline to my supervisors, they requested that I start filling out the schedule with project-specific information. No problem.

Until they want me to change the dates.

I'm trying to figure out how to take this timeline (which is saved as a template) and change the start/end dates without having to change each & every date in between, and without messing up the timeline I have already set up.

All I want to do is change the date to February 11, 2008. But everything is sub-tasked and so I have to change each and every date one-by-one.

I KNOW there has to be a more simple way to do this.
Any help you can offer would be terrific. Thanks! :)

That would be linking. Each subsequent task should have a start and stop relative to some previous task. Once all the tasks are correctly linked, you can just change the start date and everything will move accordingly.
