Doing a search on Logitech Mouse gives numerous discussions about using the middle button to rotate the model.. But nothing clear cut that I can find on how to do this. The best I could get was rotate by pressing sideways (one way only).

Can anyone give me the right combination to make pressing the wheel straight down rotate the model... please.

Each mouse type is a little different. You may need to try different configs to make it work. Try changing the middle wheel button to roll, rotate, or 3D ?

If you are using the Setpoint software set the middle middle button to "Middle Button". That will give you what you want.

When you click your center mouse if it can switch between ratcheting and free spinning as far as I know you are out of luck. You can still map the center button to one of the others like the thumb button. SW should make a list of approved mice also. I hope this helps.

In SetPoint, try:
"Select Mouse/Select Button (Generic Button)/Select Task(Other)/Select Function button (Other)"

This change worked on our workstation.

Thanks Chris; Dan; Rob and Joe.
When I do the "Select Mouse/Select Button (Generic Button)/Select Task(Other)/Select Function button (Other)" From tab #3 selecting "other" brings up a "Select Function" dialog where the only option that seems to make sense is "Middle Button". With that combination I can rotate by holding the wheel down and pushed to the right.

BUT.. in playing around I re-mapped the "Search" button to be a middle button and now it works just fine. So now my wheel zooms and I have to move my finger to the search button to rotate... this will work for me.

Are you using UberOptions? If not, you really should.

No.. I looked at it some time ago and decided it was yet one more thing to learn and for the amount of time I use SW at home not worth it.
